Well, I thought I would give everyone an update on what is currently on the easel! I have been working on my continuing Juarez, Mexico series with a painting of a young girl and her sister that I came across while attempting to find a public restroom. She was sitting outside the restroom on the ground combing her baby sisters hair and trying to wash her with intermittent sneaks into the restroom for water. I was very touched by her caresses, and paid her to take some photos of her. Of course, that is why she was there in the first place, to prepare to beg and scrap for what she could during the day. I have been working on this for quite a while now, and about two months ago hit a block...just couldn't bring myself to put brush to the canvas. I don't know if it is because it is one of the largest canvases I have worked on to date, or if I just wasn't ready. I kept staring at her, talking to her...but just didn't feel like I was ready to do her justice...that is until last night! I prepared a new palette and put on some soothing music...and before I knew it 4 hours were gone. Now I'm back at it, and will hope to continue to bring her to life to share with you all. You can catch glimpses of her sitting on the easel in the home page video. Who knows, it might be fun to take pictures along the way from this point forward and let you in on the various sessions as I work on the painting...I'll see what I can do!

Until next time...Rock on!

Ahhh...here we go. Here is a photo of where we are today. You can see that I have their faces blocked in, and will now work in more detail. I will also start next on their hands...Hands are hard! However, that is what I have been thinking about...so...hands it is...

No guarantees on when I'll post another update on this...my problem is that I get too tight, and I want to stay loose - so...I might have to deter and go in another direction with another project to loosen back up.

Please leave me comments on what you think so far!

About 1:20 into this video I saw a "ghost" floating by. They were clouds, but it really was surreal.
