Hey Hey Everyone! Wanted to follow-up and let everyone know how much fun we had at the Fountain Square Arts Fair this last weekend. It was a great crowd and we got to meet and talk to a lot of great people! Thanks to everyone that came by the booth! It was awesome to meet and greet everyone, as well as see some old friends too! The Masterpiece in a day competition was really cool to watch throughout the day, and I must say that Steve gave it a great go as well! Here are some pictures of our booth.

I did manage to finally finish the drawing I have been working on! Here is a picture of "Roman Leftovers" for you to see. I will also be posting it in the gallery section. What is really becoming fun for me - something that used to really freak me out -  is the reaction from people about the diversity of my work.  My favourite quote from this weekend was, "Oh my! That is your work too!? But it's so different! Where does it all come from?" In which I just had to respond with a wink, "Lady, you have no idea, and I think it's better you don't know."

As you can see with this drawing...I worked pretty TIGHT here. When all along I have been talking about staying LOOSE. Well let me explain...my reasoning here was that maybe if I put down the brush and go back to tight, anal, freakish, mind bending, cramp your hand drawing...you know the kind that makes you squint and jerk your head for about an hour after working on it?...that I would get it out of my system and go back to relishing being loose and crazy with the brush. I don't know if it is going to work or not...but from the painting that I have been doing post this drawing, I would say that it didn't hurt, as I have a big desire to work so loose that I nearly throw the brush at the canvas. Oh wait, maybe that is just frustration...oh hell, I get the two confused these days. But never-the-less...here it is. It is a watercolour wash with a graphite drawing over the top. Let me know what you think!

I hope everyone had a great weekend as well!

Don't forget to mark your calendars for Riley Days in Downtown Greenfield THIS weekend (Oct. 2-5) in which I'll be hanging out a lot at the studio or around the Creative Arts building. And also...you know it! 2nd FRIDAY is coming up on October 10th.

Cool rendering...and I agree, "You are very versatile." Tight? yes. Good? yes! See you this weekend at Riley Festival. I'll be singing in a trio at the opening..."The Star Spangled Banner." 6 pm Entertainment tent. I just hope my voice isn't tight! Sometimes tight is good...but not always.

I find it very interesting after seeing your other work. I did so enjoy seeing you on Sat. I had wanted to come down for 2nd Friday, but I've aquired a "food processor" named Lil Bear. He just had a vet visit today. They did several things, one of which was neutering. He's a Papillon. 11 pounds of attitude. He's very well behaved and cute as can be. I'm just not to sure yet that I can handle another responsibility right now. Should have thought of that before, huh? This hasn't been one of my better days. Talk to you later. Karen
