What Red wall you ask? Well…only the hottest red wall in all of Indianapolis!  And that is the Red Wall at Wug Laku’s Studio and Garage! Cagney@Wug's is the name of my show coming to Wug’s gallery in July! The Opening Reception will kick-off at 6 pm on Friday, July 3rd! This is such a great opportunity for me! Having a show and the chance to showcase my work to the Indianapolis art scene is a big step and after a LOT of work up until this point…I’m ready! If you are not already planning to come, please check your calendars and do try to come. I would love to see everyone and share this special night with you all! The gallery is located at 1125 Brookside Avenue, c7, Indianapolis, IN. 46202.

The show will run through July 31st. I will have new paintings to share, good conversation and more all in a very cool setting!
Please come if you can, I can use your support!

Moving on – Issue #6 of New Sugar Magazine is NOW AVAILABLE for you to view. To remind you, I submitted work for review to this on-line magazine published out of London. I must say I am amongst very good company! Click on over and take a peek!

I have already gotten some e-mails and comments on the interview and have connected with some new friends from this experience…so much fun! Don’t forget to e-mail me and let me know what you think!

In other news…This just in! Cagney King wins 1st and 3rd place overall in the Mixed Media category of the Will Vawter Art Competition! Poetry Pants came in 1st and Signals came in 3rd. It was a great show, and there were many great artists there, so I am very proud to have ‘stuck out in the crowd’ so to speak. I also had an opportunity at the Artist’s Reception to talk to several people about my work, and the feedback was tremendous.

Speaking of interviews. The Indianapolis Star came and interviewed me in my studio for the upcoming Show – Cagney@Wug’s! They did a photo shoot of me with my work and in my studio, as well as a video interview! Wow…it was awesome. As soon as I can get links to the on-line video, I will of course post here. If you are a subscriber to the Indy Star, I believe the photo and release will be in Wednesday or Thursdays edition. Check out the Metro section and the go sections.

Well, I have a show to put on, so I better get hoppin!
Until next time, ROCK ON!

Great post, Cagney! I'm so excited about your show "on the red wall" at Wug's studio. Have been looking forward to it for awhile, and it's almost here. It will be great fun. Congrats on your first and third place awards, too. It is wonderful to be recognized in that way, and to get positive verbal feedback as well. Keeps you headed in the right direction. Or at least headed somewhere unknown. That's good, too. See you on Friday!

I checked out "Sugar" magazine. Interesting article. You destroyed work? I did that once also, using a hammer on some pieces of sculpture (and I wasn't drinking). I felt better afterwards and the sculptures were much more interesting. Our son bought our MD house and he keeps finding arms, legs and torsos in the yard.

Wish I could attend your show.

I am 98% Artist (110% at heart - but bad at math) and 2% human being. I keep working hard in the hopes that one day my art story will be like the great artist fairytale. You know the one - the one about how the poor, struggling artist rocking on the edge of insanity is toiling away in her studio day after day, when one day a handsome person comes to see her work, and decides that she should be rescued. From that day on they pay her to paint, pimp out her work and buy her beer. Everyone lives happily ever after.
    That...would be cool.
Until then...I'll just keep trying to put square pegs in round holes.
